Hair Styling POS Concepts

Working in conjunction with Spectrums marketing agency, we were asked to design a range of launch POS concepts for the new Pearl range of “hair styling products”.

The marketing agency had, in conjunction with our 3D designers, created a 2D comms visual appearance package and the 3D creative draw on this for inspiration for the 3D units.

Remington Straighteners - POS Retail Unit

The hair styling market is in an ever change of flux, and the unit designs needed to reflect the current edgy, angular style being used across the board in this category.

The design looked towards an asymmetric styling base to deliver this and looked to product and packaging for a consistence colour palette.  The use of a consistent ‘Remington red tag’ was used as a signature device that pulled the different execution together and gave the shopper an easily indefinable visual cue.

As with many consumer products, the product USP features and technology needed to be communicated; this was delivered and integrated into the security mounting/product plinth so that the shopper could easily compare and contrast the different models in the range and deselect those that did not meet his or her needs.

This greatly reduced the time taken to get to a final product choice and therefore reduced the time that shopper ‘drop out’ could occur.

The range of unit designs included launch shopping mall pop-up units and department store feature fixtures as well as evolutions for mass roll out to category ends for retailer such as Boots and Superdrug.
